Reverse Chronological Order (most recent at top)
Crystal Maze: The Musical
A joint production with Big Fish Ents.

This already much hyped show promised to be a really enjoyable event. The musical is based on the cult tv programme of the 90s. It is a love story, set in the infamous maze featuring duplicity, Zimmer frames, and an outlandish musical score.

Robinson Hood
Christmas Panto!

"We have Merry Men. We have the Bin Book Forest. We have pantomime dames, we have the villainous Sherriff of Nottingham, but most importantly, we have Robinson Hood!"

Written entirely by Robinson students, with a more than healthy supply of College jokes, this was a highly successful evening, and a brilliant way to end Michaelmas term!
Michaelmas Term 2007
Ruddigore
Another joint production with the Cambridge Gilbert & Sullivan Society.

Desperate to avoid the curse which condemns each Baronet of Ruddigore to commit a crime a day or perish, Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd hides out in the Cornish fishing village of Rederring posing as a farmer, where he falls in love with the beautiful Rose Maybud. But his cunning plan falls apart when his foster-brother Dick Dauntless returns from sea and lets out his secret.

Ruddigore transported us to another world where weddings are officiated by professional bridesmaids and where ancient portraits can come to life before your very eyes!

Antigone
Antigone was in Michaelmas 2006. A twisted tale of religion, politics, family, and everything under the sun.
Oedipus, by this time dead and gone, had two sons. One lies in state, waiting for a funeral with full honours for fighting with his city, while his brother lies on the dirt where he fell, rotting carrion for the birds, after he fought against it. Their fates are Creon's law. But Oedipus's daughter, Antigone, cannot suffer this last outrage on her family's honour, and she risks death from the state to follow Godly law (burying her treacherous brother). The question is, will Creon realise his mistake and retract his inhumane law in time to save his own family?

Return to the Forbidden Planet
Lent 2003 saw Brickhouse producing the unbridled success of Return to the Forbidden Planet. Set mainly on a space ship, and based on Shakespeare's Tempest, the show involved much singing, dancing and exciting tech.
Us and Them
Michaelmas 2002 we broke the mould of a few years and decided to put a smaller scale play on, leaving the larger musical until the Lent term. Us and Them is a short play about war and conflict and features a brilliantly well made wall.
Hamlet
Hamlet was the Lent 2002 show. It was a modern, and quite frankly weird, take on the famous play. It involved people on space-hoppers, punch and judy and fairy lights. Oh, and fake snow.
Lady in the Dark
Michaelmas 2001. This is the first time this show was produced in the UK.
The Threepenny Opera
The Threepenny Opera is Brecht's reworking of John Gay's 18th century classic, The Beggar's Opera. First performed in Berlin in 1928, it has remained one of Brecht's most popular plays. The plot is primarily Gay's, but Brecht changed the focus of the satire, added several scenes and, with Kurt Weill's jazzy music, introduced an entirely new set of songs. This version, adapted by Marc Blitzstein in 1951, won the play a huge following in New York and London. Performed Michaelmas 2001.
The Glass Menagerie
Lent 2001.
Wyrd Sisters
Lent 2000 - directed by Anna Foster. Written by Terry Pratchett.
Guys and Dolls
Guys and Dolls was a hugely successful show for Brickhouse. The cast was huge and there were lots of sell-ouit nights. It has managed to gain a mythical status in the annals of Brickhouse history. Performed Michaelmas 1999.
Stags and Hens
Set in the toilets of a rundown Liverpool club, it is the respective Stag and Hen nights of Dave and Linda. While Dave lies comatose in the Gents, Linda is having serious doubts about the wedding when she bumps into Peter, her ex-boyfriend.... With much drinking and dancing, tears and laughter, it certainly promises to be an evening to remember, but will everyone make it to the church on time? Performed Lent 1999.
