Jerry - Owen Holland
Owen is an English student at St Catherine’s College, fresh from his freshers’ play. He is a little unnerved by the fact that Robert is doing his dissertation on the works of Harold Pinter but then remembers and is comforted by the fact that he has slept with his wife, on numerous occassions. Foolishly, he has taken on three plays this term. As well as Betrayal he will also be performing in Another Country and Measure for Measure at the ADC. Chaucer and Malory will just have to be put to one side. Back to top…
Robert - Jonathan Lis
Jonathan is a second-year English student at Trinity College. His previous Cambridge productions include Relatively Speaking, The Fire Raisers, Sweethearts and Volpone: Sex, Lies and Videotape, which was performed first at the ADC, and subsequently at the Smirnoff Baby Belly at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. Following recent attempts to make himself more interesting, he can now count to ten in seven different languages, and, if prompted, list all of the Carry On films and their years of release. Unlike Robert, Jonathan does not play squash, but he has been to Venice. Back to top…
Emma - Phoebe Dickerson

Born on the same day as Nat King Cole and Rudolph Nureyev, Phoebe shares with them not only a love for the lime light, but more importantly a penchant for cheese puffs and cream slices. Dragged up in a small oasis in the heart of south-east London, her frequent desire to discard the shackles of her own identity undoubtedly stems from her longing to escape the frippery of her privileged past… or perhaps she just likes to make people laugh/cry/cringe once in a while. Emma - Alix Foster Vander Elst

Betrayal is Alix’s first Cambridge drama adventure. She’s been involved in various productions at school but admits that Betrayal’s rehearsal techniques have been by far the most interesting. Laughing at Jeff and Spencer hugging each other oh so closely for the sake of ‘art’ has made it all worth while! Back to top…
Emma - Emma Hiddleston

Emma Hiddleston is in her first year reading Archaeology and Anthropology at Emmanuel College. Before arriving in Cambridge she spent a year training as a singer at Trinity College of Music in London (Soprano), where she studied with Teresa Cahill. Film: RAW SIENA (Badge) d. Joanna Hogg, Raw Siena Ltd. 2005, a British Independent feature due for release 2006. Previous theatre work: SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR, Luigi Pirandello, Reds (Mother), THE CHAMPION OF PARIBANOU, Alan Ayckbourn, (Princess Nouronnihar), THE SECRET HISTORY (Camilla) adapt. Donna Tartt. Back to top…
Emma - Cat Kellas
Cat Kellas, English student and part time thesp, is excited to have finally been cast in a part that does not involve an embarrassing dance routine or any kind of animal costume. Having previously played a scintillating assortment of roles – varying from country yokels to trees – she is excited to be part of a production which does not involve the comic accoutrements of green tights and obligatory thigh-slapping. Emma - Susannah Wharfe
Susannah Wharfe (larger photo)
Susannah Wharfe, 3rd year theologian from Queens’ College, finds thinking what to write for a biography nearly impossible, and decided to go down the ‘boring’ route of listing her past and future theatre productions whilst at Cambridge. Past roles include Evelyn in The Shape of Things, Alison in Look Back In Anger, Mrs Andrews in a rehearsed reading of Mr and Mrs Andrews in London, Vanessa in Dinner with the Inlaws and Kitty in Here Kitty. Future productions include The Calvino Project. Back to top…
Waiter - Spencer Hughes
Spencer Hughes is a first-year studying Mathematics at St John’s College. Plunged mercilessly into the real Cambridge drama scene after the comfort of the first-term fresher’s plays he is now working with the slightly scary Jeff James for the second time already and he hopes to bring some humour to Pinter’s somewhat dark tale in the comic cameo role of the Italian waiter. Ed Blain himself helped Spencer with the accent, so please, blame him… Back to top…
