INTER-FAITH
DEVOTIONAL MEETINGS
In accordance with
the Bahá’í principle advocating the essential unity of all
religions, the Society will hold this term a series of multi-faith
devotionals featuring readings from the Sacred Scriptures of all
major religions. Each devotional gathering will include prayers and
readings from the Holy Writings of various religions, for example
Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the Bahá'í
Faith. These will be followed by a social/dinner/chance to discuss
or just socialise. Watch this space for announcements of time and venue (to be decided after Squash). For more information, please
e-mail
us.
DINNER/SOCIAL
GET-TOGETHERS
After every devotional
meeting we will either just hang out or plan to
go out for a meal somewhere. These might turn into picnics or
potlucks at some point - especially in the summer, as we had last
year. This is a chance for everyone to get to know each other and
relax before the week ahead. Feel free to join us even if you have
not attended any other event but just want an excuse to hang out!
COURSE: REFLECTIONS ON
THE LIFE OF THE SPIRIT
This regularly-scheduled
course consists of three parts: "Understanding the Bahá’í Writings"
discusses how to read and analyze Holy Scripture using examples from
the Bahá’í Writings. This provides an excellent general foundation
for the following two parts: "Prayer", in which we talk about the
purpose of prayer, why it's important, and how prayer influences our
lives and others'; and "Life and Death", in which we discuss the
important topics of the purpose of our earthly lives and what
happens to us after we die. This course is typically held in small
groups, where each individual can offer opinions and ideas, and the
group as a whole can consult together. Similar courses offered.
E-mail us if you would like more details.
BAHÁ'I COMMUNITY EVENTS
In addition to these events, the Cambridge
Bahá'í Community also hosts a number of events. Please see their
