Assassins' Guild Rulings And Clarifications - Michaelmas 2006
The following is a list of auxiliary rulings and clarifications made for the purposes of the Michaelmas 2006
Assassins' Guild game. All rulings on this page should be taken to be
authoritative, and to overrule the Rules page in such situations as they are
contradictory:
- Treasure Trap Society "linears" and Capture The Flag meetings are out of bounds. Other outdoor societies may be made out of bounds on request, at the Umpire's discretion.
- Cyclists may not use full water weapons while on a bike, and full water weapons may not be used upon people while they are riding a bike
- Pencils may no longer be used as knives
- Pens without lids, with a metal barrel or lid, or with pointed ends are no longer allowed for use as knives
- As well as not using bedders unlocking players' doors to gain entry, you should not use any other authority figure unlocking a player's door to gain entry (including, but not limited to porters, maintainance staff, builders, college authorities (e.g. the domestic bursar) or the (real) police)
- Small rooms between lecture theatres and corridors are in-bounds, but try not to wait in them or kill people just passing through them (leaving the lecture theatre), as that would be taking advantage of the borders of out-of-bounds areas
- Senders of "exciting" cards are immune to their own annoying tune, in much the same way as a scorpian is immune to its own sting. The same card sent by somebody else can still kill them though. This does not mean you can run up to someone and open an exciting card at them in order to kill them.
- The Elizabeth Way shooting range of the CURPC (under Elizabeth Way Bridge) is out-of-bounds at all times (unless you want to actually get shot)
- RAG raiding (and other charity street collection) events are out of bounds. Participants must be carrying a clearly labelled RAG/charity bucket. Any player found to be using a RAG/charity bucket for non-RAG/Charity purposes will be made wanted or worse
- The other Umpire's room (H3, St Michael's Court, Caius) is also out of bounds
-
Do not ever, ever send a poisoned letter through the Royal Mail, or the ICMS (Inter-Colligiate Mail Service). Doing so may result in you being thunderbolted from the game. Also, always write a disclaimer on the letter. Not doing so may also result in sanctions. Also, please don't mention any real poisons on a letter, as that is a bit silly, and is liable to cause a scare.
- Wearing rubber bands on the wrist does not count as bearing, nor does holding one to say hold a rolled up poster. However holding a rubber band in your fingers as if ready to fire it does.
- J Doe's "World Domination Party" on the evening of Sunday 22nd October will be out-of-bounds for the duration of the party, and while assassins are inside or approaching/leaving the building for a reasonable distance
- People who are on the incompetence list and die without redeeming themselves will not be automatically resurrected as Police.
-
Fake Bombs, and other fake explosive devices are BANNED and have been for some time. Please DO NOT use them, and report any that you see to the Umpire immediately
-
The Cambridge Cenotaph will be out-of-bounds between the hours of 1030 and 1130 on the 11th of November, for obvious reasons
- Players working for any voluntary agency are out of bounds while in uniform and/or carrying equipment. This rule must not be abused by for example wearing uniform outside of events where they are required.
